What does a bridal designer wear to her own wedding?
This question has probably never occurred to you, but when I became engaged, this was the very question I was faced with. As I began creating and trying on the more contemporary gowns that I had initialing thought I would want to wear, I realized that they didn't give me that 'feeling' I was looking for. They didn't make me feel like 'a bride'. So, what did I end up choosing? Two dresses, actually. A beautiful long gown made of diamond white silk satin with large swarovski crystals for the ceremony, pictures and the first dance. In my mind, this dress fit the very definition of classic and opulent. When I put the dress on, I felt like a queen. I just knew that it was the one. And, then a short, fitted, all lace dress to allow me the comfort I was looking for, during the rest of the reception. I combined Venice and Alencon laces to give the dress added dimension. I loved it! "
